First of all, you guys ROCK! Thanks so much for all your help and tips on finding baby pants for my skinny minnie.
Today I took a trip to Old Navy. I had looked online over the weekend, and saw tons of cute things but none of the information online mentions the adjustable waist in the pants for Bridget’s size (12-18 months) so I didn’t want to order online. But when I was in the store, the angels sang and I found so many pants with the adjustable waist! Unfortunately they were out of a lot of the pants in 12-18 months, but that’s ok.
I spent a ridiculous amount of money but I got a ton of stuff and it was all cheap, and Bridget is really now outfitted for a good long time. The pants are a bit long but they can be rolled up and I’ll probably get a lot of wear out of them.
So thanks so much for all your tips. I have a lot of options now!

I meant to weigh-in on this one, but got swamped with my work deadline. The Commander is super skinny too… well, not as skinny as she used to be (she was in the lowest 5% for the longest) — I adore Icky Baby clothes for her - their stuff is long and lean and you can get it way discounted at Loehmanns. Very fun stuff - chic adjustable waists..
I also love Old Navy - so affordable and many options for tiny tummy kids… we are in the same size range and it seems like its sold out a lot…
Glad you found some that fit!
Wow, you got some great comments on that last post, and I missed it!! Uh, and I’m a shopaholic too, going a bit nuts the last few days cashing in on my Gymbucks.
Glad that you managed to find stuff for Bridget at Old Navy. I go there a fair bit of course. I don’t know if you have a Mexx kids near you (also have baby stuff). I find their lines tend to fit a bit smaller, and although Giselle is on the tall side, she’s always been a skinny mini (maybe that’s because she doesn’t eat grrr!). She wears a lot of leggings, and for now she’s still in pullups (even though she’s potty-trained, she feels more secure in the paper underwear), so to be honest, that’s what’s keeping her pants up these days. If she were wearing her big girl underwear her pants would likely be on the floor.
I used to do a lot of “cinching” for Liam, just at the sides of his waistbands. He was (and still is) a skinny/tall kid, but now he has the adjustable waists, best invention ever.
My little niece is a tiny little thing at 2 years old and her mom swears by old navy jeans with adjustable waists. I am so glad you spent your retirement savings so Bridget has a warm ass. That makes me happy. Yes, here I am again after weeks of being way way WAY behind on reading blogs. I will kill myself if life keeps up this busy. I miss reading you and I do check in even if I don’t have time to comment…trust me!
You inspired me to check out Old Navy, I found some shirts I liked for Lance and when I got to the check out and found out they were $1.73 I went back and got 3 more of larger sizes for the future and got adjustable waistband jeans (I will find out which i like more gap or old navy), 5 items for $15, it was nice, the only bummer they had way more cute girl stuff then boy stuff, you are lucky to have a girl.
