3-D Hottie Goodness

February 5th, 2008

Thanks to Jake’s wonderful sister, we were able to nip out to see the U2 3D movie. I have seen 3D movies before but nothing as good as this. It was like floating over the stage but so close that I could reach down and tousle Larry Mullen Jr.’s hair, still sporting that unfortunate slicked-back mullet. I got to see The Edge’s (surprisingly) bulging biceps. I confirmed that Adam Clayton looks like a grandpa, but in a sexy way. And Bono…. wow. Bono.

Jake said a friend of his told him that seeing the movie was better than a concert and I guess in a way it was because of all the close up details we got to see. It was a movie of a show I’ve already seen though, so that took some of the oomph out of it. And being in a movie theater, we couldn’t behave like we were at a concert. There was no singing along with the rest of the audience on screen, no jumping up and down screaming and clapping with them. But I’ll tell you, it sure made me want to go to another U2 show post haste.

That sounds awesome! Don’t think it’ll come to our neck of the woods but oh well…. :)

I think I’ve had my head in the sand, when did this 3D movie come out?
I saw U2 twice in one year (the Zooropa tour) and while the music was great, they were teeny, tiny dots on the stadium stage. This one I’ve gotta see!
