Count me in with the cutting the stem tribe - I found it obvious and uncomfortable, unlike a tampon, until I trimmed the stem. Now I don't feel it.

Funny you blogged about this... on a message board I am on, they were just discussing it. Apparently, cutting the stem is pretty common and something about folding?? Here's the link they provided: http://community.livejournal.com/menstrual_cups/tag/insertion+-+folding+methods

Good luck with this!! I just plan on having my uterus removed once I am done creating the Pipsqueaks. I have no future need for the damn thing.

Hmmm, no advice for you here but I can imagine what a pain if the damn thing leaks! Argh. It probably takes a few tries to get it right...hopefully it'll work out.

Luckily, I've never had a problem with tampons, and since I started taking acidophilus Xtra every day (three kids of live bacteria) I never get yeast infections. As in NONE in five years that I've been taking it.

This cup, however, does not seem fun.

Don't forget the cute little bag it comes in.

Does it feel like it's pinching or that you can feel it move around.

If it's the former, trim the stem. I know they say not to trim it off, but that's the only thing I've found to work. It's not going to get stuck in there. You can just pretend like you're giving birth all over again, and it'll come out.

If it's the latter, well, the only thing I can tell you is that I had to walk around for a bit and then I'd feel it pop into place and create the suction (which let me tell you, is a fucking weird feeling).

So, I share your, um, tampon issues... however, I have a wonky uterus and cervix due to my DES exposure so the Diva Cup just doesn't fit me... I wish... I love the idea of it, just like I loved the idea of the cervical cap (also a no go)....

What I really wish is that I could have little zipper pouch and remove my uterus to rinse it out once a month - now that would be a nice design.. invisible zipper, wash and wear....
