Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day
Today I sneaked out to a movie after running my errands. I had forgotten how much I love going to the movies. I don’t do this nearly enough. True, the past few months have been a bit crazy and well, sucky but we need to try to do this more. Anyway, when I go by myself, I always make it a point to see something that I know Jake would not want to see. That’s how I ended up at Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day today. In a word, charming. Nothing surprising really but the costumes, characters and dialog were great.
And all through the movie I kept wondering who the hottie was. I knew he looked familiar but I couldn’t place him. I stayed for the credits and didn’t recognize the name. So I had to do a search when I got home. I was quite surprised to learn that this gorgeous man….

… is the perfectly adorable Pie Maker on Pushing Daisies. I never was too interested in him on that show, although I really like the show (and am sincerely hoping it comes back from the strike). But in this he’s just yum-mee. Although I discovered in my searches that he’s five years younger than I am. When did it happen that the hotties I see in movies and on TV are now younger than me? Jake says it makes me a cougar. I am not pleased about this turn of events.
On a completely unrelated note, I had to laugh out loud today as I was in the car on my way to the movies and I had to swerve on the highway to avoid killing an armadillo that was crossing the highway. I’ve never actually seen an armadillo alive before, much less seen one crossing a road. They are ugly little buggers, that’s for sure. Not that I would intentionally kill any animal, but I can see why no one really goes out of their way to avoid tagging these guys. Ick.

Not a cougar! My friends stick to the formula of 1/2 your age + 7 years is permissible for young ones. As long as he’s 23.5, you’re good to go. But daymn, if you hooked up with a 23.5 year old, I’d probably call you a cougar anyway.
I miss the Pie Maker!
I, too, am a fan of the Pie Maker.
I have never seen an armadillo in real life.
Don’t have them much up here in Seattle
